So, a lot of things I would use on a linux notebook break- JACK isn't a matter of drivers, but a matter of some userland kernel stuff whose packages are just plain broke. All my weird audio stuff works (usb midi I/O and audio streaming from Puredata), Steam works, the "celeron" (actually atom) in the n2840 comes with a good enough GPU to play plenty of games, the CPU is (barely) fast enough to play minecraft (unlike anything based on the successor bay trail atoms, like the n3050, which lack just enough clockspeed that it goes from 40-60 to 15-35 fps). My linux experience was MUCH better on my Toshiba CB2. I ran debian jessie after trying everything else on a Samsung Chromebook (XE303C12), and it was my bus companion for a year. If you report bugs or ask for help, you'll be treated like an idiot (or, this has been my experience anytime I've worked with desktop Linux issues on ARM). Also, you lose all support for stuff like JACK and accelerated OpenGL. The moment you step outside of basic web browsing, you'll find packages that plain don't work, broken dependencies, and other such problems under ARM.
